Choral Music
Tupelo High School is home to a wonderful choir and vocal music department and currently houses the THS Madrigals Choir and the MadJazz Contemporary Vocal Ensemble.
Our students take pride in learning an academically historical, multicultural, and modern selection of choral literature as they perform multiple venues throughout the academic year.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in various performance opportunities throughout the Tupelo community and expand their choral education experience further as they compete both in local and national choral adjudications throughout the country.
"My goal from the start is to get to the core of who my students are as individuals. Then I focus on unifying us all at the heart as one group and one sound. Making music isn't solely about the notes and rhythms on the page; it's about the connections and emotions within your ensemble that translate to your audience. Those connections are what truly make a performance memorable and help us, as humans, heal."
- Ariel Ray, THS Choral Director
