Kenneth Wheeler, Board Member
Ken Wheeler, a Tupelo native who attended both Lee County and Tupelo Public Schools, is a 1983 graduate of Austin Peay State University. He was reappointed to serve a second term on the School Board. He is the Director of Security Services at North Mississippi Medical Center and is married to Cheryl Wheeler. They have 2 adult children.
Paul Mize III, Vice President
Paul Mize, III is a First Vice President of Commercial Lending at BankPlus. He is married to Bonnie, and have two sons, Henry (7) and William (5). Mize, a Top 40 Under 40 finalist by the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, is a 2002 graduate of Tupelo High School. After earning his Bachelor of Business Administration, Banking and Finance degree, he graduated from the Southeastern School of Commercial Lending in 2013. Three years later, he finished Summa Cum Laude from the Barret Graduate of School of Banking at Christian Brothers University.
Joe Babb, President
Joe Babb is a CPA and a shareholder with Eaton, Babb & Smith, P.A, a regional public accounting firm. A native of Ripley, Joe earned his accounting degree from Mississippi State University. He is married to the former Lauren McGee, and they have 3 children – Cate, Ava and Jack. The Babbs are active members of First United Methodist Church.
Sherry Davis, Board Member
Mrs. Davis is a life-long resident of Tupelo. A graduate of Tupelo High, Mrs. Davis continued her education at Itawamba Community College and the University of Mississippi earning a B.A. in Business, a Liberal Arts degree in Biology and a Masters in Educational Leadership. She began her teaching career at Tupelo Middle where she earned the honor of Tupelo Public School District Teacher of the Year and the Walmart /Phi Delta Kappa National Teacher of the Year. In 2002, she became a National Board Certified Teacher in Science and later taught Biology for five years at Tupelo High School. She is currently an Anatomy & Physiology Instructor at Itawamba Community College with 28 years of teaching experience.
Eddie Prather, Treasurer
Mr. Prather is a lifelong educator who worked as a teacher, principal and superintendent in Mississippi Schools for 30-plus years. A graduate of Falkner High School, he continues to work to ensure educational opportunities are available to all students so they may be prepared for the future. He has served on the Commission of School Accreditation board for nine years and has also served on several other community organizations a board member. Mr. Prather, who is entering his 12th year on the TPSD board, earned his undergraduate degree from Mississippi Valley State University and his master's from Mississippi State.
