Dr. Loden is in his fifth year with the Tupelo Public School District. He came to us from Amory School District where he was Superintendent. A native of Mantachie, Mississippi, Dr. Loden attended Itawamba Community College, Delta State University and the University of Mississippi, where he received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership. He has served on the adjunct faculty of Mississippi State University’s Educational Leadership program. This past year, he completed an MBA from Western Governors’ University in Salt Lake City.
As a life-long educator, he has taught Social Studies at Tupelo High School, was a former middle school Assistant Principal in Oxford, was an elementary school Principal in Houston, served as Executive Director of Human Resources in Meridian, and was the Principal of South Panola High School. Dr. Loden and his wife, Monica, have two boys -- Trey, 15 and Arthur, 8 and a wild Havanese named Monte Cristo.
Message from the Superintendent
Whatever It Takes. That’s the motto we’ve adopted for the 2016-17 school year. When all of our stakeholders--teachers, parents and community—work together to do ‘whatever it takes’ to serve our most important stakeholder, our students, great things happen. We’ve been hard at work to live out this motto. Here’s some of what we’ve most recently accomplished or are in the process of implementing:
Completion of $44 million of bond projects to provide campus renovations and infrastructure upgrades to each of our 12 school campuses
A graduation rate of 87%
A robust implementation of S.T.E.A.M. programs (Science, Technology, Education, Arts and Mathematics)
Expansion of educational technology including one-to-one laptops in our 3rd-5th grade schools
The launching of a Teacher Leadership Academy and a Principals’ Leadership Academy
We hope to continue building on these initiatives that have brought us success. Click HERE to learn more about our district’s mission and goals.
