Welcome to Pierce Street Elementary! As I begin my first school year as principal at Pierce Street, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. Our philosophy demonstrates the belief that the education of our children is a joint effort between home and school. We are here to ensure that students grow academically, emotionally, and physically. Our school colors are royal blue and gold and our motto is: Pierce Street Pride, Making a Difference, and our mascot, Lenny the Learning Lion, symbolizes this team spirit.
We believe in teamwork here at PSE and we strive to work as a team in all ways: as teachers, as students, as parents, and as a school. Wearing our team colors each week reminds us of the commitment we have to our school and to each other. Everyone looks forward to our team activities, such as the Winter Festival, the Arts Festival, Family Fun Nights, and many other special events throughout the year. Throughout the year our staff and students will work as a team to participate in community service projects to help support our wonderful city.
On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to extend an invitation for your family to visit our school, to meet the faculty, staff, students, and parents, become active members in our PTO, and talk with us so we may work more closely together. My priority is to ensure that all Pierce Street students receive the best education possible in a safe learning environment. Every decision I make will be in each student’s best interest. I maintain an open door policy in which I welcome everyone to call or drop by and visit at any time. I look forward to a successful school year working with you to prepare our children for a bright future.
Sincerely, Art Dobbs
