Mary Frances is dance and movement instructor. Her teaching programs include incorporating movement into the narration of favorite children’s books and using movement to teach core classes. She was at Carver for a full week of instruction creating a dance and movement program to coincide with the children’s book Giraffes Can’t Dance. The program was later performed for the parents and the community.
Da Terrence Roberts is a storyteller in the West African Tradition of Jaliyaa who embraces the teaching power of words and music. Roberts is known as “Da Story Weaver.” His performances were filled with teachable moments on culture, science, history and language arts. He incorporated music and singing into his storytelling that fascinated the students and teachers at Carver.
