Our Mission

The mission of TPSD's media centers is to provide students with the opportunity to become lifelong users and creators of information.

Carver Elementary

The mission of the Carver Elementary Library Media Center is to provide a diverse collection of resources that satisfy the educational needs and interests of students and staff in a setting that is welcoming of all people and fosters a love of reading while gaining knowledge. College and Career Readiness Standards will be employed in order to allow students the opportunity to develop skills in order to promote life-long learning and the ability to compete in a global society.

Joyner Elementary

Joyner Elementary School Library Media Center Program strives to provide a warm, welcoming, safe, and healthy environment for all students, faculty, parents and community members while preparing our students to be successful productive members of today’s technology and knowledge driven society. The program goal is to foster a love for reading and gaining knowledge.

Parkway Elementary

The mission of the Parkway Elementary Library Media Center program is to provide a diverse collection of resources that satisfy the educational needs and interests of students and staff in a setting that is welcoming of all people and fosters a love of reading while gaining knowledge. The media center provides access to a comprehensive collection of
curriculum-related print and electronic sources. These materials include
circulating fiction and nonfiction books, reference books, eBooks, online subscription databases and the internet.
