Kenneth Wheeler, a Tupelo, MS native, has served the City, County and State in various community organizations including Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi, Association for Excellence in Education, Tupelo High School Mentor, and the State Crime Stoppers Advisory Council serving under Governors Ray Mabus, Kirk Fordice, Ronnie Musgrove and, Haley Barbour. He is the Director of Security Services at North Mississippi Medical Center where he has served for 29 years. Kenneth is a 1982 Graduate of Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology and Agricultural Engineering. He attended Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport Rhode Island and joined NMMC shortly after Honorable Discharge. He achieved a Master Level instructor credential in Crisis Prevention Instruction from The Crisis Prevention Institute, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He holds senior memberships with the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety and, the American Society for Industrial Security. Kenneth and his family are members of Chandlers Temple C.M.E. Church in Verona, MS where he is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is married to the former Cheryl Smith of Bakewell, TN and has two children, Tiffany and Brandon.
