Located in east and south central Tupelo, Lawhon Elementary serves approximately 565 students, second through fifth grade. Lawhon has one of the largest facilities in the Tupelo Public School District with a full-size gym, a cafeteria, a music building, and an auditorium along with other service buildings.
Forty-five certified teachers, twenty-one support staff, and two administrators currently serve the children at Lawhon. The atmosphere is very inviting and conducive to learning. The faculty is always hospitable toward visitors and teamwork is evident in the community, among the staff, and in the classroom.
A strong sense of community spirit can be felt at Lawhon. Parents and other volunteers work side by side with professionals to provide the best educational opportunities for all students.
