Located in east and south central Tupelo, Lawhon Elementary serves approximately 400 students, third through fifth grade. Lawhon has the largest facility in the Tupelo Public School District with a full-size gym, a cafeteria, a music building, and an auditorium along with other service buildings.
Twenty-five teachers and twenty-one support staff currently serve children at Lawhon. The atmosphere is very inviting and conducive to learning. The faculty is always hospitable toward visitors and teamwork is evident in the community, among the staff, and in the classroom. A strong sense of community spirit can be felt at Lawhon. Celebrate Science!
February 11, 2010 Students at Lawhon were treated to three days of hands-on science activities aimed at getting them excited about our upcoming Science Fair. Thanks to our PTO and science teachers from Tupelo Middle School and Tupelo High School, our students became scientists through active engagement in exciting science activities.

January 21, 2010 January has been an exciting time for academic "Bees." Now that Lawhon is a third through fifth grade school, we were able to participate in both a school-wide spelling bee and geography bee.
