Southern Association of Colleges and Schools

The mission of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is the improvement of education in the south through accreditation.

The Tupelo Public School District along with each of the individual schools is fully accredited by the prestigious Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  Based on the regional accreditation, current parents and community members as well as perspective parents and community members are provided information that the schools of the Tupelo Public School District continue to strive and are supported in meeting performance standards beyond the state level.

As a standard of excellence Tupelo High School was initially accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1918.  From this beginning, all Tupelo Public Schools ultimately obtained recognition and accreditation by Southern Association and continue to retain this standard of excellence.
