Joyner Elementary School offers an array of exciting educational opportunities and programs for its 439 student population. Our classrooms have a 15:1 student teacher ratio. In addition to a rigorous curriculum, our highly qualified faculty and staff assist our students with:
*telecasting skills on WJOY, a student directed, closed circuit tv station
*science experiments through our RATS Science Lab
*application of math skills in our exclusive Joyner Kid's Kitchen
*real life daily living skills in Joynerville, our hands on school based learning
communtiy
*outdoor classroom activites in the Discovery Garden
*climbing exercises in the gymnasium Climbing Wall
*developing computer skills in our Computer Lab
In addition, we have an active Media Center, a part-time school nurse, full time instructional coach, classroom academic interventionists, in addition to a strong gifted, art, music, and physical education program.
Infusing the arts in the curriculum is a way to provide exposure to various art forms. Using differentiated instruction and application of depth of knowledge skills has proven to be an integral component of student success. This year we are proud to introduce our Joyner Joey mascot! Our Joey mascot will celebrate the successes of all Joyner students throughout the year.
