The largest and oldest academic competition for high schools in Mississippi is the annual Math and Science Tournament that Mississippi College has hosted for thirty-one years. The tournament was initiated with the intent of promoting science and mathematics in high schools through a spirit of competitiveness like that in athletic events.The Tupelo High School Math and Science Team won 1st place overall in Friday’s State Math and Science Competition at Mississippi College in Clinton.
