Parking decals can be purchased in the security office (H109) on Tuesdays and Thursday from 10:30 to 1:15. Requirements to purchase a decal are a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and tag number. Decals should be displayed on outside back window lower left side. Security officers at the guard booth will check for decals on student’s vehicles that arrive late. Vehicles without decals will be towed at owner expense.
Today the cafeteria will be serving: pizza and triple deckers.
2008 yearbooks can be picked up in H Commons beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 27thduring 5th and 6th lunch periods. This is for students that have already purchased a yearbook. An announcement will be made at a later date if any extras are left for purchase.
Cafe au lait, crepes and croissants----join French Club now and enjoy!!! Newly- elected officers who will be leading French Club this year are: President-Leslie Reed, vice-President-Justin Hale, Treasurer-Pam Scheske, Secretary-Kelly Robinson and Events Chairman-Kaitlyn Satterfield. Bon Appétit!

9th grade boys basketball team will be selling GOLF SIZE UMBRELLA'S for $20.00 at all home football games (while supplies last). They are blue and white with a gold T.
We are looking forward to another exciting season of "GOLDEN WAVE FOOTBALL" and you don't want to miss the 1st pass or touchdown by our Golden Wave as they hit the field for 5 exciting home games. Show your support and purchase your season ticket now in Mrs. Cook's office or during lunch period beginning Monday, August 25th (see Coach Porter in the cafeteria). General admission (K-UP) $6.00, student season ticket $15.00, adult season ticket $20.00.
Any freshman interested in running for class officers needs to pick up application in Mrs. Payne's room (H131). Deadline for turning in completed application is Thursday, August 28 at the meeting in Mrs. Payne's room after school at 3:15. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory to qualify to run for class officer. If you can not attend this meeting, you must have a representative present to sign your name and get information discussed.
CLUB FAIR Friday, August 29, 2008. Students, who plan to participate in clubs, will need to sign-up at the Club Fair in H Commons, during 4th, 5th and 6th period lunch. New and Old members will need to sign-up. Some Restrictions may apply.
THS Golden Wave Varsity Boy's Basketball Program is sponsoring a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebee's on Saturday, August 30th from 8am - 9:30am. Tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased from Coach Patrick Head (H-Commons), Coach Rankin (A-234), Coach Pate (A-229) or any of the varsity basketball players. We appreciate all your support!
The Boy Scouts of America is offering a new Explorer Post for the upcoming school year. Boys and girls ages 14-17 are invited to sign up in the Career Center, J103, with Mrs. Witty. The Explorer Post will meet monthly starting this fall. At the meetings, students will learn about the requirements for various professions and will get to meet people currently in those professions. Guest speakers are already lined up for the following professions: veterinarian, army aviation, fire department, and police department. Additional guest speakers will be added. If you are interested in the Explorer Post, please sign up in the Career Center, J103. The Explorer Post will be limited to 10-15 students, so please sign up today.
Fall High School Day for Mississippi Valley State University: Visit the university on Saturday, September 20, 2008 for their fall High School Day. The High School Day activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. (Registration at 8:00 a.m.) in the R.W. Harrison Complex. You will get the opportunity to meet faculty, staff, and students and become better acquainted with the programs and services offered. Additionally, each student and chaperone will be their special guest at the MVSU vs Prairie View Football game at 5:00 p.m. See Mrs. Harris for obtain a registration form. Office of Lt. Governor Phil Bryant announces applications for Pages to serve in the Legislative Session January-March, 2009 are limited to only 50 this year. The electronic application for students is available at JR_Page_Application.doc. Requirements are Page Program Application, short essay (one page only), one letter of reference (Superintendent, Principal, Counselor or Teacher) and copy of academic transcript. Mail the form and supplemental information to the Lt. Governor's office by November 30, 2008 to Attention: Nycole Campbell Lewis, Constituent Services, Office of the Lt. Governor, P. O. Dual Enrollment through Mississippi State University: Students who have completed a minimum of 14 core high school credits, and have a t least a cumulative GPA of 2.5 are eligible for this program. Students with less than 14 credits are required to have a minimum composite ACT score of 30 or an equivalent SAT score. Wavelink Parents: THS COLLEGE FAIR 2008 NEEDS YOU!!!!!!!!!! Did you attend college or university outside of the State of Mississippi? Would you like to encourage local students to attend your alma mater? If so, we have an opportunity for you to make a positive difference in the life of a local student. You are invited to represent your school at the annual Tupelo High School College Fair to be held on the THS campus in the gym on Monday, September 29th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. (setup time is from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.). You will need to contact your alumni or admissions office to request materials to share with prospective students. Most admissions offices will have training materials to assist you in this effort. A table will be supplied for display the evening of the event. Please contact senior class counselor Mrs. Brandie Harris (841-8980) or Mrs. Shawn Brevard (844-9620) if interested.

To Request An ActiveParent Account:
· Click on the “Sign up for an Active Parent Account” link on the ActiveParent website
· Complete all fields in RED on the Request Account screen & Click Next
o Username & Password MUST be a minimum of 5 characters
· Complete all fields in RED on the Student Information screen & Click Add Student button
· If additional students need to be added to this account, complete all fields in RED on the Student Information screen & click the Add Student button. Repeat this process until all student names are listed in the box labeled “Student Information Requested For” box.
· Click the Submit Request button after all students that should be associated with your account are listed in the “Student Information Requested For” box.
· A message should appear stating that the user account request was successful. Your student’s school will activate your account within 2 school days.
To Log In and Use ActiveParent Once the Requested Account is Activated:
· Enter the User Name & Password that was created during the Account Request process & Click Login
· Choose the student’s name from the “Student” drop-down box
· Click on one of the Menu buttons on the left side of the screen to view the different areas of information on the selected student. Menu Options are Schedule, Term Grades, and Daily Grades.
