The class loves to show me and the school how much HEART they have. They are a fantastic group to work with.
Reading
Research says that children become better readers by reading at their ability level. Students will have an AR/RC book to read for a minimim of 20 minutes each night. Students will keep track of their reading minutes and have a parent initial! The goal this nine weeks for each 4th grader is 15 points with atleast 70%. Students who reach their goal will be treated with extra recess and ice cream. The last day for points is October 10th.
For the last two weeks our class has come in first place with over 90 total points each week. Anhthu Troung was the top reader last week in 4th grade. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
Math
Multiplication facts are very important in 4th grade. We are working on them daily through flashcard drill, speed drills and writing them. (0-9) If you have not purchased a set of flashcards you can find them at the Dollar Tree store. Starting this week we will have the 100 Club for 100 facts in 5 minutes..
