This is an exciting time for you as a parent and you will be amazed at how much your child will grow this year. It’s really neat to watch first graders grow into accomplished readers and writers and to see the changes in their thinking as they become familiar with more abstract concepts. The most important element in that change is “you”. Staying involved in your child’s education is the key to a successful year. Please encourage your child to tell you about what he/she learned during the day. Our class encourages independent thinking and your child will be allowed to make choices about learning. Our goal is to encourage students to make smart choices and become responsible learners.
