Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award…

On Friday, January 20th, Pierce Street Elementary teacher Jeni Chandler, Dr. Debbie Davis, and Dr. Randy McCoy attended a luncheon in Jackson sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Education. Mrs. Chandler was recognized and honored at this luncheon by the state department for her recent selection as a recipient of the prestigious Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award. Mrs. Chandler was one of only two educators from the state of Mississippi who was selected for this national honor.

Mrs. Chandler is a third-grade language arts teacher at Pierce Street Elementary School who has taught for ten years. Mrs. Chandler joins TPSD colleagues Mrs. Linda Clifton, Mr. Mac Curlee, Mrs. Brenda Johnson, and Dr. Ellen Shelton-Richey as Milken Award winners. The Milken National Educator Awards are designed to attract, retain, and motivate outstanding talent to the teaching profession.

The Tupelo Public School District is very proud of Jeni and the job that she does everyday with her students at Pierce Street Elementary School.

CONGRATULATIONS, JENI !!!
