I am always extremely concerned when a student’s behavior
allegedly harms another student. Such behavior was reported to
have occurred after 4:30 p.m. on the campus of Tupelo High School
in August. In cooperation with the Tupelo Police Department, a
thorough investigation has been ongoing since the initial report was
filed.
Today, new information was provided to the TPSD by the police
department. Appropriate disciplinary action, in accordance with the
policies of the school district, has been taken. The action taken
is consistent with the TPSD policy dealing with a student who at this
point is subject to the judicial process for resolution of this matter.
The Tupelo Public School District is committed to ensuring that
every student is provided with a safe learning environment. Your
support of our schools is very much appreciated.
