Welcome to the Rankin Elementary website! With an enrollment of approximately 300 children for the 2006-2007 school year, Rankin serves students in grades K-3. Twenty-eight highly qualified teachers provide students with a "Koalaty" education. Guests entering the school are greeted by mosaic art projects created by children. A salt-water aquarium provides a unique, educational learning experience. Rankin's campus consists of four buildings that house 22 classrooms, administrative offices, cafeteria, media center, discovery lab and an activity building. With a rich educational history, Rankin Elementary School has been serving the needs of children in Tupelo since1929. Named for Congressman John E. Rankin, the school was the first in the state built without a bond issue, taxes, or any cost to the city on donated land through volunteer labor. Rankin's mission is to challenge each student to think critically, demonstrate responsible behavior and realize their full potential, while providing a quality education in a safe and secure environment that requires accountability from all stakeholders.
