Rankin is a great school,
Rankin is so cool,
I would even be a cat,
one with a funny hat,
to have the chance to read a book,
maybe endure a few funny looks,
just to hang out at that cool school!

~ "Cat in the Hat" guest reader - Shawn Brevard at 8:00 a.m. in the Activity Building. LOADS OF LAUGHS!!
~ Community/Parents/Guest readers visit each classoom! Reading times from 8:30-9:30 on March 3 following the school-wide reading.
~ Cafeteria fun: Breakfast - served green eggs and ham. Thanks for encouraging your students to eat breakfast that day.
*Birthday cake at lunch. All students were given some birthday cake for Dr. Seuss' birthday.
~ Humane Society collection. We were given a list of items the humane society wants/needs for their shelter in Lee County.
~ Other special events prior to March 3: Dr.Seuss door decorating contest in progress the week prior to the Dr. Seuss Day! Classes participated in this fun contest to help showcase Dr. Seuss and his talents! AND students were encouraged to dress up as their favorite story book character on Friday, February 29 (Dr. Seuss or other character) FUN, FUN, FUN!
