Rankin School is proud to add another teacher to its group of National Board Certified recipients! Laurie Alford is a 1st grade teacher at Rankin who received this great accomplishment. She says, "After having taught 25 years in lower elementary classrooms, I decided to take the challenge to engage in some intensive study which would help me grow professionally as well as enhance the learning opportunities for my students. With much support and encouragement from my colleagues and family I spent numerous hours researching topics related to my teaching, analyzing aspects of my teaching techniques and writing about all of this as I evaluated what I do every day with my students.Going through the National Board process was truly a learning experience and one that I am glad that I was able to successfully complete. I have much to live up to as a board certified teacher!"
She joins other teachers in our building who also have this excellent National Board Certified achievement: Glenda Scott, Glenda Clay, Carmon Dye, and Susan Johnson. WOO-HOO for you!
