Lawhon Procedures for Arrival / Departure
Arrival procedure for bus riders
- Bus riders should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Bus riders will unload on Wayside Street.
- Staff members and campus security officers will be on duty to supervise students safely to their proper destination.
Departure procedure for bus riders
- Bus riders will dismiss at 2:30 p.m.
- Staff members will escort students from the classroom to Wayside Street and assist the students safely aboard the appropriate bus.
Arrival procedure for car riders
- Car riders should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Staff members from Kindergarten and 1st grade will be standing under the 1st grade awning to assist Kindergarten and 1st grade students safely out of the car on Lake Street.
- Staff members from the 2nd and 3rd grade will be standing under the 2nd and 3rd grade awning to assist 2nd and 3rd grade students safely out of the car on Lake Street.
- Those that eat breakfast go to the cafeteria and then to the rooms. Those that don't eat breakfast with us go to the hall of their class and sit there with a teacher on duty until 7:30. A bell rings at 7:30 for them to go into class.
Departure procedure for car riders
- Car riders will dismiss at 2:35 p.m.
- Staff members will monitor students to the appropriate loading destination on Lake Street. Staff members will wait with the students until the student’s name is called.
- Another staff member will go to each car, alternating colors, and radio the student’s name to the announcer.
- The parent will drive to the staff member wearing the designated color where the student will be safely assisted into the car.
Arrival procedure for daycare
- Daycare bus riders should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Daycare bus riders will unload in front of the school on Lake Street.
- A staff member will be on duty to assist in safely unloading the students from the daycare bus.
Departure procedure for daycare
- Daycare bus riders will dismiss at 2:30 p.m.
- Staff members will escort the daycare students to the appropriate loading destination on Wayside Street and assist the students safely aboard the daycare bus.
Arrival procedure for walkers
- Walkers should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Teachers and campus security officers will be on duty to supervise students safely to their proper destination.
Departure procedure for walkers
- Walkers will dismiss at 2:30 p.m.
- Walkers will be escorted to Wayside Street with the bus riders and daycare bus riders.
- Staff members will monitor students safely off campus.
